Electrical Project Engineer - Distribution
Confidential Opportunity This confidential employer seeks an Electrical Project Engineer – Distribution to lead utility infrastructure projects across the Midwest and Southeast. With a hybrid schedule and locations in Michigan, North Carolina, or Florida, you’ll own the full engineering life cycle and earn $140,000–$190,000 plus relocation. Shape the backbone of modern power delivery as the lead engineer on high-stakes distribution projects. This is a chance to influence utility-scale systems from concept to closeout, all while working alongside a team that values technical mastery and client impact. With the flexibility to be based in Ann Arbor, MI; Raleigh, NC; or Orlando, FL, you’ll join a firm known for delivering critical energy solutions on a national scale. Your work will guide the full life cycle of electrical distribution design, from developing single-line diagrams and construction drawings to performing complex calculations. You’ll serve as the single point of technical authority, coordinating with project managers and other disciplines to ensure deliverables meet rigorous standards. Every project you touch will directly support the reliability and capacity of utility infrastructure affecting thousands of homes and businesses. We’re looking for a hands-on electrical engineer who has spent at least five years in distribution engineering and understands how to navigate utility client relationships. You thrive when you can mentor others, manage shifting priorities, and see a project through from initial scope to final commissioning. A PE license and experience with both overhead and underground systems will set you apart, but above all you bring a drive to own outcomes. This is a high-visibility role with a compensation package that reflects your expertise: $140,000–$190,000 per year, comprehensive relocation support, and a hybrid schedule that balances on-site collaboration with remote flexibility. If you’re ready to lead projects that define the future of electric distribution, we’d like to hear from you.
