Opportunity

This is more than just a software engineering job—it is a chance to put your expertise to work on systems that safeguard national security. The position sits at the intersection of advanced signal processing, communications, and intelligence gathering, supporting defense programs you will feel proud to be part of. You will collaborate with some of the brightest minds in the industry while working on technology that truly matters.

Your day-to-day work will revolve around the X-MIDAS framework, a powerful environment for building custom SIGINT solutions. You will design and implement reusable software components, optimize multi-threaded processing pipelines, and contribute to everything from low-level hardware control to high-level GUI and database systems. The products you create will directly enable the intelligence community to detect, classify, and geolocate signals in critical operations.

The engineer who succeeds here is a self-starter who takes ownership and communicates clearly. You thrive in a loosely structured team of experts, but you also bring the discipline to write well-tested, documented, and maintainable code. You are comfortable with the unique demands of classified work and hold—or can obtain—the necessary clearance. If you enjoy building frameworks that other developers rely on and you want your work to have a direct impact on mission outcomes, you will feel right at home.

This is a full-time, on-site role in Tucson, Arizona, with a compensation package that reflects the high stakes and specialized skills required. Beyond a salary of $150,000 to $200,000, you will receive outstanding benefits and a 401K match that is among the best in the industry. Relocation support is provided. If you have the clearance and the X-MIDAS experience, now is the time to step into a role where your code silently protects the nation. Apply today to start a conversation.

Non-Negotiables

  • You must hold a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field
  • You bring at least five years of hands-on experience in system development and deployment
  • You have demonstrated mastery of C/C++ development within Linux environments
  • You are skilled in reusable framework design and development
  • You possess strong mathematical and analytical abilities
  • You are proficient with the MIDAS (preferably X-MIDAS) framework and Python
  • You have worked in a classified setting and are able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret security clearance, which requires U.S. citizenship

What's In It For You

  • The compensation package ranges from $150,000 to $200,000 per year, reflecting the high-impact nature of the work
  • You will receive top-tier benefits, including a generous 401K with employer contribution of 15-25%

  • You will enjoy direct interaction with end users and customers, giving your work immediate real-world impact
  • This is a full-time direct-hire role with a stable, confidential employer in the defense sector

Responsibilities

  • You will create custom digital signal processing solutions and communications systems for national security and defense
  • You will work with a small, dispersed team on software frameworks that support hardware- and software-based SIGINT systems
  • You will develop reusable frameworks, libraries, or software toolkits with a focus on multi-threading and performance optimization
  • You will support core signal and image processing algorithms, hardware control, GUI design, and database development
  • You will produce well-structured, documented, and carefully tested code while maintaining disciplined work habits
  • You will interact directly with end users and customers to understand requirements and deliver solutions
  • You will contribute to a multi-disciplinary R&D environment alongside electrical engineers, mathematicians, and computer scientists
