Opportunity

This is a rare chance to step into a senior engineering leadership role with a firm that dominates the electric power transmission market. The company has a deep backlog of projects fueled by the explosive growth in data centers and electric vehicles, so you will enjoy long-term stability and career runway that most industries cannot match.

Your work will focus on designing and delivering overhead high-voltage transmission lines that keep the lights on for millions of Americans. About 90% of your time will be spent on structural engineering—including foundations, framing, and material selection for steel, wood, and composite structures. You will use PLS-CADD daily to model lines, optimize routes, and produce construction-ready packages. This is not a desk job that churns paper; you will be the technical anchor who pulls together budgets, schedules, permitting, and client communication into one coherent, executable plan.

The ideal person for this role has spent the last eight to twelve years inside a consulting engineering firm designing transmission lines for investor-owned utilities. You are the person others turn to when a project gets complicated. You enjoy teaching junior engineers how to get more from PLS-CADD and you take pride in delivering work that passes muster under the toughest client reviews. You hold a degree in civil or structural engineering, a PE license is a plus, and you are authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.

If you are ready to put your stamp on projects that will shape the nation's energy future while earning top dollar and building wealth through an ESOP, we want to hear from you. This opportunity offers a clear path to technical and managerial advancement, a supportive team, and the resources you need to do your best work. Apply today and let's have a confidential conversation about where you fit.

Non-Negotiables

  • You must have at least eight years of hands-on overhead transmission line design experience on systems rated 69kV and above
  • Proficiency with PLS-CADD is absolutely required for this position
  • A bachelor’s degree in civil or structural engineering is mandatory, though other engineering disciplines may be considered
  • You need to be eligible to work in the United States without any form of visa sponsorship, now or in the future
  • The role demands a track record of delivering engineering packages for U.S. investor-owned utility transmission programs

What's In It For You

  • The base salary for this role ranges from $130,000 to $200,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications
  • You will receive a competitive bonus program designed to reward individual and company performance
  • The company offers an Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP), giving you a stake in the firm’s long-term success
  • A comprehensive benefits package includes medical, dental, vision, and retirement savings options
  • Paid relocation assistance is available to help you settle into one of the preferred office locations
  • You will join a booming sector with strong, sustained demand driven by data centers, electric vehicles, and grid modernization

Responsibilities

  • Lead engineering execution for large or multi-project overhead transmission programs from concept through construction
  • Prepare, check, and approve complex engineering calculations, drawings, and specifications
  • Manage project budgets, schedules, and quality across multiple disciplines while mitigating risks
  • Mentor and train engineering teams, with a focus on developing PLS-CADD expertise
  • Serve as the technical lead and engineer of record, taking responsible charge for project deliverables
  • Interface directly with utility clients and support business development efforts, including proposal preparation and cost estimating

Preferred Qualifications

  • A Professional Engineer (PE) license is strongly preferred and will give you an edge
  • Experience with transmission projects at 500kV and above is highly desirable
  • Familiarity with lattice tower design, steel poles, and composite structures will help you succeed quickly
  • Prior work in an EPC or engineering consulting environment is valued over a pure utility background
  • The ability to coordinate with procurement, permitting, land acquisition, and construction teams is a plus
  • Proposal support and engineering cost estimating experience will make you a stronger candidate
