Opportunity
This is more than a testing role—it is a chance to own the automation backbone of a breakthrough satellite-to-mobile communication platform. A well-funded startup with patented technology is looking for a Test Automation Software Engineer who can build frameworks, not just run scripts. If you enjoy creating reliable, scalable test systems that catch real-world bugs in cellular protocols, this role puts you at the center of the action.
You will help launch and maintain text messaging capability that works anywhere with a standard mobile phone. The work involves designing automated tests for GSM, LTE, and 5G networks, integrating hardware and software for satellite-based towers, and using specialized tools to simulate and verify wireless performance. Every test you automate directly improves the reliability of a service that could reach millions of users globally.
The engineer who thrives here writes clean Python code to build frameworks from scratch, not by clicking through a tool. You understand cellular protocol stacks well enough to design tests that expose hidden edge cases. You are comfortable in Linux, you have led testing efforts before, and you are ready to guide a growing team toward best-in-class quality practices. If you have been waiting for a startup where your technical voice shapes the product, this could be the move.
Join a team of 56 inventors who have already secured series A funding and are preparing for series B. You will have the equity upside of an early-stage company, the stability of a funded venture, and the freedom to set the testing standard. Ready to make an impact? Apply today and let’s talk about how you can become the quality champion this team needs.
Non-Negotiables
- You have built test automation frameworks from scratch using Python or a similar backend language
- You hold a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Telecommunications Engineering, or a closely related field
- You bring at least four years of hands-on experience integrating and testing cellular communications systems, including GSM/2G and LTE/4G
- You possess deep understanding of GSM and/or LTE architecture, protocols, and standards
- You are proficient with Linux operating systems and scripting in Python and Bash
- You have used network testing tools such as QXDM, Wireshark, Spirent, IXIA, iPerf, or Traceroute
- You have experience leading product testing and automating test cases in a telecommunications environment
What's In It For You
- You will own the test automation architecture for a patented satellite-to-mobile communication technology
- The compensation package includes a base salary of $140,000 and meaningful stock options in a growing startup
- You will join a funded, 56-person company with series A backing and a clear path to series B funding

- The role offers H-1B sponsorship for existing visa holders, making it a strong fit for international talent
- You will work closely with a development team in a rapid, agile environment that values your expertise
- This is a high-visibility role where your work directly influences product quality and company success
Responsibilities
- You will design and build test automation frameworks from scratch to validate satellite-based cellular network functions
- You will perform manual testing for new features and subsequently automate those tests to ensure continuous coverage
- You will create end-to-end test plans, procedures, and scripts that verify system requirements and expose bugs
- You will use network analyzers, traffic generators, simulators, and emulators to stress-test cellular protocols
- You will code automated test cases using Python, ROBOT, and other scripting tools
- You will collaborate with developers and product managers to understand requirements and deliver quality feedback
- You will stay current with 5G, LTE, and IoT advancements to ensure test strategies remain cutting-edge
Preferred Qualifications
