Non-Negotiables

  • You must hold an active TS/SCI security clearance to be considered for this role
  • A bachelor's or master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or an equivalent technical field is required
  • You need to have a minimum of 2 years of practical experience in software development, including design, implementation, testing, and deployment
  • You must possess a Security+ certification or an equivalent DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification
  • Proficiency with Linux is necessary, with a preference for Rocky 8 or 9 distributions
  • You should have hands-on experience with containerization and orchestration using Kubernetes and Docker
  • Expertise in Python programming and experience with Helm charts for deployment are required

Responsibilities

  • You will develop new software capabilities and perform cloud-oriented architectural improvements to enhance system scalability and resilience
  • You will educate and guide the team on cloud technology possibilities, helping to design and lead cloud-architecture modernization efforts
  • You will manage Kubernetes orchestration and handle production releases, including drafting release notes to document changes
  • You will support the maturation and improvement of GitLab CI pipelines to streamline the software delivery process
  • You will create and modify Helm charts to manage Kubernetes application deployments effectively
  • You will troubleshoot and maintain Kubernetes clusters, ensuring high availability and performance for mission-critical applications
  • You will collaborate closely with a small, agile team to integrate containerized applications and drive continuous improvement

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with additional programming languages such as Java or C++ is highly desirable
  • You are familiar with developing and maintaining RESTful micro-services using frameworks like Java Spring Boot or FastAPI
  • Experience with Agile development processes, including using Jira and working in two-week sprints, is a plus
  • Familiarity with continuous integration and delivery pipelines, particularly using GitLab, ArgoCD, and GitOps practices, will set you apart
  • Knowledge of code-quality and security scanning tools like SonarQube, Nexus IQ, and Trivy is advantageous
  • Experience with cloud monitoring and observability tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, and Loki is preferred
  • A Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA) or Certified Kubernetes Application Developer (CKAD) certification is a strong plus
