Opportunity

Imagine a role where you get to take a product from a napkin sketch all the way to a finished product on the shelf. Our confidential employer is looking for a Senior Electrical Engineer who wants full ownership of the entire development process, not just a piece of it. This is a hands-on position where your ideas become real, and you'll see the direct impact of your work every day.

In this role, you will lead the design and development of new electronic and electrical products. You'll be responsible for everything from creating schematics and building prototypes to testing, troubleshooting, and writing the documentation. You'll also manage your own timelines and budgets, which means you have the freedom to drive projects forward. What you build will directly contribute to the company's product line, making a visible difference in the market.

The ideal engineer for this role brings at least five years of electrical design experience and a degree in electrical engineering or a related field. You have a strong command of design tools and have taken concepts from idea to manufacturing. You're not just a designer; you're a problem-solver who enjoys collaborating with different teams. If you're someone who likes to dig into the details and see the big picture, you'll fit right in.

This opportunity comes with a competitive salary, top benefits, and full relocation assistance to the Mankato, Minnesota area (or to Alpharetta, Georgia if you prefer). You'll be joining a company that values innovation and gives you the runway to do your best work. If you're ready to own the full lifecycle and make a real impact, apply today to take the next step in your career.

  • You must hold a BSEE, BSET, or equivalent engineering degree
  • You need at least five years of experience in electrical design engineering
  • You must demonstrate strong command of schematic reading and design tools such as simulation, analysis, and CAD
  • You must have hands-on experience taking products from initial concept through to a manufacturable design
  • You must possess a solid grasp of financial modeling and new product development (NPD) processes
  • You must be a creative problem-solver with sharp analytical instincts and clear communication skills

What's In It For You

  • You will earn a competitive annual salary between $100,000 and $130,000 based on your experience and skills
  • The company provides a comprehensive top benefits package, including health, dental, and retirement plans
  • Full relocation assistance is offered to help you move to the Mankato, Minnesota area or to Alpharetta, Georgia if you prefer
  • You will enjoy full ownership of the entire product lifecycle, giving you a tangible sense of accomplishment
  • The role offers variety and the chance to work across the full stack of hardware development
  • You'll be part of a collaborative team that values innovation and continuous improvement

Responsibilities

  • You will lead innovative electronic and electrical design projects from initial concept through to production release
  • You will create schematics, build prototypes, and iterate designs to meet performance and reliability targets
  • You will independently manage project timelines, budgets, and quality goals for multiple products
  • You will write detailed product specifications, test plans, and verification documentation
  • You will conduct feasibility studies, competitive testing, and design qualifications to ensure products meet market needs
  • You will troubleshoot complex electrical and electronic issues during development and post-production
  • You will generate Engineering Change Orders (ECOs) and maintain complete engineering documentation

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in consumer product design is highly valued
  • A background working cross-functionally with manufacturing, operations, and outside suppliers is a plus
  • Familiarity with rapid prototyping techniques and conventional fabrication methods is preferred
  • Experience generating ECOs and managing engineering documentation systems is desirable
